In 1967 she was born in Steyr/Austria. She studied classical and modern dance at the studio Gangl in Linz/Austria. After she finished her education she developed in contemporary technique in Spain, France and the Netherlands. She was part of the artist collective Krüppelschlag, and took part in projects of Esther Linley and Klaus Maria Brandauer. These works led her to found PILOTTANZT with Roderich Madl in 1993 where she is as well dancer, choreographer and dramatic adviser. In 1995 she and Madl called the series SHORT CUTS into being. A continuously staged presentation of contemporarydance development. 1997/98 the Duet Frost went on the international network tour DANCE ROAD. Pilottanzt is the winner of the Austrian Dance Award 1998 . In 1999 the piece It's You-Man was presented and in 2000 Pilottanzt took part at the EXPO in Hannover. During the winter 1999/2000 Ebner and Madl were on a study tour in Australia, which strongly influenced the successful production entitled E-N-D. After their piece x-tracts in 2000, they toured the project Moving Gallery through Germany, Luxemburg, Poland and Austria with great success.
Currently Doris Ebner is preparing the production i feel sick for the Impuls-tanzfestival in Vienna/Austria.
