Pilottanzt was founded in 1991 by Roderich Madl and Doris Ebner in Vienna. 9 pieces were created and performed in 17 countries since then and achieved both national and international awards. Commisioned projects and international co-productions as for the EXPO2000 for art festivals and film productions were and are still translated into reality.

Pilottanzt was coproduced by the EXPO 2000 Hannover and TANZtheater International Festival with the creation E-N-D. E-N-D toured throughout Europe. This piece was a preparation work for the touring transportable performance unit MOVING GALLERY, coproduced by Internationale Tanzwoche Dresden and the Sommerszene Festival Salzburg. 2002 started the second phase of this project where the cooperation with visual artists was intensified and the surrounding space was stronger incorporated into the concept. The Solo ALICE-Wunderland ist abgebrannt was choreographed by Chris Haring for Doris Ebner and is as well part of MOVING GALLERY as it is performed independently in a stage version.
